# White Ribbon UK

> White Ribbon UK is the leading charity in England and Wales working to prevent men’s violence against women and girls. We engage men and boys, organisations, workplaces and communities to challenge the attitudes, behaviours and systems that make violence possible, and to build the allyship that stops it before it starts.

White Ribbon UK’s work focuses on primary prevention. This means addressing the root causes of men’s violence against women and girls, including gender inequality, sexism, misogyny, rigid gender norms and harmful expressions of masculinity.

White Ribbon UK works collaboratively and centres the experiences of women and girls. We encourage men and boys to take responsibility for challenging harmful attitudes and behaviours and to become active allies.

White Ribbon UK is the working name of White Ribbon Campaign Ltd, a registered charity in England and Wales, charity number 1123874.

This website belongs to White Ribbon UK. It should not be confused with other organisations that use “White Ribbon” in their names, including White Ribbon Alliance UK or the White Ribbon Association.

White Ribbon UK is a prevention charity and is not a specialist domestic abuse support or emergency response service. People looking for support should use the Find Help page.

White Ribbon Accreditation is a structured, three-year organisational culture-change programme. Accreditation demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to developing and delivering an agreed Action Plan. It should not be described as an award, certification of existing standards, or blanket endorsement of every action taken by an organisation.
