Oxford and Cambridge University boat clubs unite to support White Ribbon

Oxford University Women’s and Men’s Boat Clubs, in coordination with the Cambridge University Boat Club, have come together to raise funds for White Ribbon UK and Rape Crisis.

Sexual violence is an issue that resonates strongly with the teams. Female athletes endure sexism, sexual harassment and know women who have been victims of sexual assault. 97% of women in the UK aged 18-24 have been sexually harassed (UN Women, 2021).

We have been blown away by the support and are encouraged to see the display White Ribbons were worn by the teams during the day of the boat race which will have raised awareness of issues of sexual violence and that we need all men to promise to never commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
