WRUK response to appropriation of White Ribbon

White Ribbon UK responds to appropriation of White Ribbon, the global symbol for ending men’s violence against women and girls.

It has been bought to our attention that a public figure who is currently on police bail for sexual offences wore a White Ribbon and attended a White Ribbon stand this week. This is completely unacceptable. Someone in this position who appropriates a campaign to end violence against women and girls diminishes the voices and experiences of victims and survivors. This person has no connection and has never had a connection with White Ribbon UK.
