We Speak Up: Luke Deeley

Meet Luke Deeley, a White Ribbon UK Ambassador and Head of Facilities Management for the Police and Crime Commissioner of West Mercia, committed to speaking up and taking action to help end violence against women and girls. We spoke to Luke about his family being a key motivator for him becoming an Ambassador and his personal experiences. 

What motivates you to be a White Ribbon Ambassador?     

The day to day mindset of more men than I'm comfortable with having preconceived ideas about where women and girls fit into society. 

Do you have a personal story or experience you’d like to share?   

My main drive to be a White Ribbon ambassador comes from my family. I have two sons that I want to make sure have the right mindset around their behaviour towards women and girls. I also have a daughter and anything I can do to improve attitudes for her future is extremely important. I am also mindful of my responsibility to my wife and mum.
